National Citizens Advice is to explore what the government’s key announcements and the Autumn Budget decisions really mean for households and families across the UK at December’s Data Insight event.

A year into Labour’s term, are the measures introduced enough to turn the tide on historically low living standards or have we become desensitised to the hardships many continue to face?

Speakers will reflect on recent policies, including the two-child limit and the forthcoming Child Poverty Strategy, and ask when, how, and if change will truly be felt by clients and the wider community.

Citizens Advice will explore whether these measures are easing the pressure or if we can expect another winter of unrelenting hardship for the people we support.

As winter approaches, they’ll also consider whether the government’s promises to raise living standards and tackle poverty are reaching people in practice or yet to translate into real change.

The online event is being held on Thursday, 11th December from 11.30 – 12.30.
